A teacher is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself. I am not teaching you anything. I just help you to explore yourself”. Bruce Lee
Sally’s approach
” How can I best serve these students today?”
Sally loves this quote from teacher Donna Farhi. and begins each class with this question in mind.
To encourage students on a path of self exploration as a way to better their understanding themselves, is Sally’s passion.
Her teaching is underpinned by a deep foundation in the philosophical context of yoga from her extensive study within the linage of T. Krishnamachaya and in particular the teachings of his son, TKV Desikachar.
Teaching breath-based movement and incorporating the subtle tools of yoga beyond physical attainment is a key aspect of her classes.
She blends other somatic practices and is inspired by functional movement, that is useful in life.
The most important aspect of her classes is if a person has left class having learnt something new about themselves, not whether they have mastered a pose, there is no ‘right’ way.
Moving students from dependence to independence is at the heart of yoga.
